This Privacy Policy explains how the ShopSense iOS app (“ShopSense”, “we”) handles information. Our goal is to keep the app useful without collecting personal data.

- ShopSense does not require accounts and does not collect personal information on our servers.
- Scanning runs on-device using Apple frameworks; camera frames are not uploaded by ShopSense.
- Shopping lists and preferences are stored locally on your device.
Information we collect
ShopSense does not collect personal information (such as name, address, phone number, or precise location) through the app. We do not run analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking identifiers in the app.
If you email us for support, we will receive the information you include in your message (such as your email address and any details you provide).
Device permissions & on-device processing
- Camera: Used only while the scanning view is open to read shelf labels. ShopSense does not store camera frames and does not transmit them to our servers.
- Clipboard (Pasteboard): Accessed only when you tap “Paste from Clipboard” to import a shopping list. The clipboard contents are used to populate your local list.
Local storage
ShopSense stores your shopping lists, settings, and preferences locally on your device (for example, using iOS local storage). This data is not synced to our servers.
Sharing
We do not sell or share personal information collected by the app because the app does not collect personal information for us to sell or share.
Data retention & deletion
App data is stored locally on your device. You can delete this data by deleting the app from your device. If you contact us by email, you can request deletion of those communications by emailing support@shopsense.app.
Children’s privacy
ShopSense is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us via email support, contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date.
